Sky Germany<\/a><\/strong> report that Rayan Philippe\u2019s move to Mainz<\/a><\/strong> has collapsed despite a verbal agreement. The Frenchman was expected to join the Bundesliga<\/a><\/strong> side for a fee between \u20ac2m-\u20ac2.5m but as of now, the deal is off which has led to Philippe being disappointed as \u2018he would have liked to join Bo Henriksen\u2019s team\u2019 after several positive discussions between M05 and the forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Mainz\u2019 withdrawal in their pursuit of Philippe could open the door for fellow Bundesliga sides. Per Sky<\/strong>, Werder Bremen and Bundesliga returnees Hamburg have shown an interest in signing the 24-year-old Frenchman, who scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 34 second division games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s no further reasoning as to why Mainz pulled out of a deal to sign Philippe, but they announced the signing of Benedict Hollerbach<\/a> from fellow Bundesliga side Union Berlin for a reported \u20ac7.5m on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mainz are preparing for a European campaign after finishing the 2024\/25 season in sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
