Here is your review and talking points from matchday 3 in the Bundesliga.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">K\u00f6ln Spoil Wolfsburg Party\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getfootballnewsgermany.com\/2025\/koln-on-cloud-nine-following-dramatic-draw-with-wolfsburg-jakub-kaminski-sets-new-bundesliga-record\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FC K\u00f6ln continued their unbeaten start to the season with a thrilling 3-3 draw in Wolfsburg.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Wolves were celebrating the occasion with the club\u2019s 80th birthday. Head coach, Paul Simonis, thought he had gifted the club with three points not once, but twice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wolfsburg were in the lead 2-1 going into the 90th minute, with a whopping 14 minutes added on. However, in the 91st minute, midfielder \u00cdsak Bergmann J\u00f3hannesson scored his first goal for K\u00f6ln to make it 2-2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Party spoiled? Perhaps not. Wolfsburg fans would have thought it was written in the stars when club legend Maximilian Arnold scored a trademark free kick in the 99th minute to make it 3-2. You can forgive the players and fans alike for celebrating as if the three points had been rescued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, K\u00f6ln became the ultimate party-poopers in the 104th minute when midfielder Jakub Kami\u0144ski scored to make it 3-3. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the recording of the precise minute of injury time goals began in the 1992\/93 season, no German top-flight professional has scored so late.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oh, and it just so happens that Kami\u0144ski is playing for the Billy Goats on loan from Wolfsburg!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The draw continues K\u00f6ln\u2019s impressive start to the campaign and keeps them in 3rd position. For Wolfsburg, they also remain unbeaten but have now drawn twice and won once. They occupy 8th position after a birthday thriller no one will forget in a hurry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Debut Win for Kasper Hjulmand at Leverkusen<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kasper Hjulmand began life at Bayer Leverkusen with an impressive 3-1 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The former Mainz 05 man didn\u2019t have to wait long for his first goal when Alejandro Grimaldo fired in a free kick after just ten minutes. Before halftime, a Patrick Schick penalty doubled B04\u2019s lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Can Uzun pulled one back for the Eagles, and when Robert Andrich was sent off for a second bookable offence just five minutes later, Hjulmand was made to sweat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leverkusen showed what they\u2019re made of, held off Frankfurt\u2019s attack, and wrapped up the evening with another Grimaldo free kick in stoppage time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getfootballnewsgermany.com\/2025\/kasper-hjulmand-on-his-return-to-the-bundesliga-football-in-germany-is-for-the-people\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the victory, Hjulmund expressed his happiness to be back in football and Germany<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019ve missed working in football. Frankfurt hosts Turkish side Galatasaray.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Derby Day Delight for Freiburg\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getfootballnewsgermany.com\/2025\/freiburg-still-hopeful-of-a-special-season-following-spectacular-comeback-victory-against-stuttgart\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SC Freiburg claimed the bragging rights in the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg derby by scoring three goals in 11 minutes to overcome VfB Stuttgart.\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The visitors were leading for the vast majority of the game thanks to an outrageous backheel goal by Ermedin Demirovi\u0107. The former Freiburg man made no mistake about where his loyalties now lie during his celebration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, a late rally starting in the 81st minute would ultimately flip the game on its head. Igor Matanovi\u0107 got the sides level before Derry Scherhant gave Freiburg the lead just five minutes later. The game was wrapped up with Matanovi\u0107\u2019s second in stoppage time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A first brace in German football for Matanovi\u0107 as the super subs showed their worth in the derby.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There was time for one more piece of drama when Johan Manzambi was sent off for Freiburg for dangerous play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freiburg\u2019s first win is welcomed and puts them level on points with Stuttgart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around The Grounds<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elsewhere, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getfootballnewsgermany.com\/2025\/gladbach-seoane-future\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Borussia Monchengladbach head coach Gerardo Seoane is under increasing pressure as Gladbach lost 0-4 at home to Werder Bremen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As reported by GGFN, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach\u2019s next game will be decisive when it comes to the future of head coach Gerardo Seoane. Gladbach\u2019s next game will be against Bayer Leverkusen this Sunday, and it is said that the game against his former employer will be his \u2018final\u2019. The rebel club now sit in 4th position and travel to Stuttgart on Friday. The Bavarians with just too much firepower, as Harry Kane scored twice.
