Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus has been linked with a transfer to 2. Bundesliga club Fortuna D\u00fcsseldorf, according to <\/span>Bild<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Neuhaus has been training with Gladbach\u2019s U23s<\/span><\/a> this pre-season as punishment for what\u2019s been labelled as the Mallorca scandal. During the summer, a video emerged of Neuhaus criticising sporting director <\/span>Roland Virkus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the decision to fine and punish Neuhaus, club CEO Stefan Stegemann said:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFlorian Neuhaus\u2019 behaviour and statements are damaging to the club and unacceptable. His words have harmed the club and deeply disappointed those involved. This is incompatible with the values of the club.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s becoming increasingly unlikely that Neuhaus will return to the first team and be able to fix the trust that has been broken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this, Fortuna D\u00fcsseldorf have their eyes set on an ambitious transfer in order to give Neuhaus a new start in the second division.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the biggest hurdle is the player\u2019s current salary. Neuhaus earns around \u20ac4m a year at Gladbach, a fee which could be too much for D\u00fcsseldorf. However, given the situation, it\u2019s possible for all parties to come to a new agreement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, Neuhaus is already familiar with D\u00fcsseldorf, having spent a season on loan there in 2017\/18.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As per <\/span>TransferMarkt<\/span><\/a>, Neuhaus is worth just \u20ac3.5m – A rarity that a player\u2019s transfer fee is lower than his yearly wage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
